Historical Event on 5/4/1783

Tipu Sultan was enthroned as the ruler of Mysore after the death of Haider Ali in a simple ceremony at Bednur. He continued the Second Mysore War against the English. He defeated many EnglishGenerals like Brithwhite & Col. Bailey. Tipu Sultan signed the treaty at Mangalore on 11th March 1784 A.D. which was known as the Mangalore treaty.

10/15/2000Sachin Tendulkar becomes the highest run-getter in one-day internationals (9379 runs) during his innings of 69 in the final of the ICC cricket tournament against New Zealand
10/26/1932Indian Muslim leader demands that Gandhi be released from prison. The Viceroy responded that this was only possible if Gandhi disassociated himself from the civil disobedience campaign.
