I want to convert my visa status from h4 to F1 . I want to study MS and main target is to get CPT/OPT and to get a job.I have a query is , after getting converted from H4 to F1 visa , is the F1 visa holder still dependent on their respective H1 holder. or he/she is independent once her status changes from H4 to F1 . Please help me.
Once you change your visa to F1, you will be treated as individual. But to change your status you should get an i-20 from any college in US, you should also provide proof of required funds to show that you can complete your education. can you be specific about your question? If you are looking for an answer like if there is any link between F1 and your spouse on H1. Then no both visas are different and will affect each other.
