Historical Event on 4/22/1983

Smt. Indira Gandhi, Prime Minister of India, visited ICMR Headquarters and held discussions with senior scientists of ICMR. ICMR revived research on indigenous drugs/traditional medicine with a new, disease-oriented approach and a Scientific Advisory Group on Traditional Medicine Research was constituted in 1983 but actual studies (Multicentric Clinical Trials, Centres for Advanced Research, Central Biostatistical Monitoring Unit etc.) were started in 1984-85.

10/20/1920Censor Board, after examining the film 'Ahilya Uddhar' on October 20, started mentioning the number of reels as well as the length in feet on the Censor Certificate. The film had already been released earlier on August 23, 1919.
7/16/1929Indian Council of Agricultural Research, an autonomous apex national organisation which plans, conducts and promotes research, education, training and transfer of technology for advancement of agriculture and allied sciences, was established. It has 45 Central Research Institutes, 4 National Bureaux, 10 Project Directorates, 30 National Research Centres, 90 All India Co-ordinated Research Projects, 261 Krishi Vigyan Kendras and 8 Trainers Training Centres.
1/8/2000The Government reconstitutes the Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts and Trust and retains Mrs. Sonia Gandhi as a trustee along with Mr. P. V. Narasimha Rao, Prof. Yashpal and Dr. Abid Hussain.

7/15/1969Air Chief Marshal Arjan Singh, Padma Vibhushan, DFC. retired as the Air Officer Commanding, India Command. After retirement he was appointed as the Ambassador in Switzerland.
1/19/1907Mohammad Ali Mirza was crowned as the ""Shah-E-Iran"" in a grand function held in Royal Palace, Tehran. This coronation was performed on the precious throne ""Thakt-E-Taus"" which was made by Emperor Shahjahan, and was taken away from India during the invasion of Nadir Shah in 1738 AD.
