9/15/1926Vande Mataram', a lengthy feature film produced by Vande Mataram Film Co, Bombay, was prohibited on September 15 by the Censor Board on the grounds that it was an underlying attack on the prestige of University Education in India. The film, however, was cleared on December 7 after deleting the objectionable scenes.
8/11/1999The last total solar eclipse of the millenium was seen in northern parts of India and France. This eclipse lasted for 2 min and 23 sec.

He wrote in verses, stories, novels childen's stories some of these were ""The Jungle Book, Kim and Just-50 stories"" and was honoured with the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1907 for 'Kim' (Indian based story).
