Govind Ballabh Pant was born in village Khunt, Almora District, U.P. He served eight years as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. He was as outstanding parliamentary figure of his days. He was awarded with Bharat Ratna in 1959.

This Do or Die slogan deep rooted in Indian hearts and resulted in nationwide Quit India Movment. This day is commemorated as ""Kranti Day"". Govind Vallabh Pant was send to Ahmednagar Jail, while Sarojini Naidu and many other leaders were also arrested. |
